A registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to breaking the expensive youth club sports mold and keeping elite athletic training accessible to every family in Omaha.
WHY WE DO IT DIFFERENTLY
ENVY Volleyball was founded with a single, clear objective: to challenge the traditional, high-cost youth sports structure that limits talented athletes from playing the game they love.
As a non-profit club, we operate with absolute financial transparency and a strict Zero Hidden Fees policy. We don't measure our success by corporate profit margins. Instead, every single dollar our organization raises is funneled directly back into securing premium training facilities, providing high-repetition skill academies, and funding robust player scholarship programs.

ENVY Origin Story
In an extreme example of “if you want something done right, do it yourself”, ENVY was initially started because a group of middle school parents were frustrated with many of the current volleyball clubs and facilities in Omaha. The parents were tired of paying high dollar fees only to experience mediocre coaching and poor performance at crowded facilities. So… the parents asked me if I would be willing to coach their girls (already playing for me on the 8th grade team) in the upcoming club season. We registered as a solo 14U team and did very well that year. Actually, we went undefeated until the regional championships, where we encountered some amazing competition. Ultimately, we spent very little money and the girls had a great time. Unexpectedly, the result of that experiment was I was nominated and won the USA Volleyball National Junior Male Coach of the Year in 2021.
The parents again convinced me I should consider starting my own club, especially now that I had the credentials to attract support. I agreed, on one condition…
I said I would be willing to do it but only if I could run it differently than all the other clubs in Omaha.
We would try and improve the overall situation for young players everywhere by improving the coaching standards. We would hold free coaching clinics for “volunteer parent coaches” so young players are getting a more positive experience in elementary schools.
Additionally, I wanted to run the club as a non-profit that offered scholarships. There are so many talented young players that don’t get a chance to play club volleyball because of financial barriers. I wanted to change that.
Finally, I would personally hire the coaches to ensure they were patient, enthusiastic and a positive influence on the players.
In 2022, we invited anyone who wanted to play for ENVY to come out to an open gym and we accepted all players. We assembled 5 teams and although we didn’t have too many top finishes in local tournaments, the girls (and parents) were all happy with the continual improvement, and the quality of the coaching.
After being forced to jump from one unavailable school gym to the next for practices and struggling to win tournaments, I decided we needed to make some changes. We needed our own facility and we should hold try-outs, so that we could field some winning teams and increase our presence in the community as a competitive Club. But the core values of providing excellent coaching and offering scholarships still apply. I’m proud to say, even the girls who did not make our Club teams decided to join our newly established “ENVY Academy”, which offers the same skills training without tournament play.
